Magic Amulet

Dayak tribe, Borneo, Indonesia,
late 19th – early 20th century

This amulet is carved from a natural root. The figure is standing with its arms crossed across its chest. The back of the figure is the root’s original, bulbous surface. It has many small faces carved onto the bumpy protrusions of the surface. The amulet has an organic, yet stylish appearance.

The figure stands 6 inches on its custom stand.
