This miniature Shango staff is an important and rare example of its kind. Miniature Shangos are hard to find; but miniature Shangos made from ivory are extremely scarce. This example is superbly carved; with a powerful face that possesses fine attention to detail from head to toe. The figure is holding a Shango staff in one hand and another perhaps diviners object in the other. The feet are particularly impressive; as is the patina; encrusted and almost calcified from age. In excellent condition.
