This pair of Bulul are carved in the traditional Bunney style. In classic seated position with arms crossed these figures are used to spiritually guard the rice crop which is looked at not only as sustenance but is linked with fertility among the Ifugao in the Philippines. The surface is heavily encrusted from decades of exposure and storage.

The Figures stand 20" and 20.25" respectively.
