This is an impressive and immense Shango wand. The face is striking with its wonderful large eyes and petit nose and mouth. The truly incredible aspect of this work is the heavy encrusted patina the piece has acquired. The patina is layer after layer of old dry sacrificial materials. The work as a whole is a marvel of African art.
The Shango stands 29 inches tall.
